Make Your Own Soap

In today’s day and age where everything seems to be synthetic and man-made, more and more people are looking for more natural alternatives to everyday items.

Synthetics can sometimes seem so impure and even scary because of the combination of chemicals and processes these artificial products go through; so we search for organic food, organic beverages, organic clothing, simple soap ingredients and of course, organic skin care products.

Organic soap for instance is a good way to go especially when you have sensitive skin. Organic soaps have the advantage of being unadulterated by factory-born additives and they retain their innate properties of being natural medicinal remedies for some fungal infections.

Antifungal medicinal soaps are made from a variety of organic materials. Some of these ingredients include helpful naturally-occurring substances such as vitamin E, olive oil, palm kernel or virgin coconut oil, calendula, and natural glycerine. The combination of all these raw ingredients makes for a therapeutic soap that helps with killing off fungal infections on the surface of the skin. In addition to that, these soaps keep your skin moisturized and free from irritating dryness. This type of soap is indeed perfect for those who have to deal with unrelenting and embarrassing skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. This soap also helps with treating skin infections like herpes, ringworm, athlete’s foot, and staphylococcus infections. If you have sensitive skin, natural antifungal soap could be just what you need.

Also try using anti-fungal soap in its other forms to protect the rest of the household from any more infections. This soap can also come as a laundry soap or detergent, to help get rid of any infections that may cling to your clothes.

The best part is that you can actually make this soap yourself. Just read through this recipe and you will get a step by step guide on how to make your own therapeutic anti-fungal soap.

Ingredients:

1 tbps. Jojoba oil

300 g white soap

500 ml rose water

10 ml tea tree oil

1.5 ml thymus vulgaris

Cheese grates

Dried marigold petals

Greaseproof paper

Once you have all your materials ready, you can get started. Begin by taking your cheese grater and using it to scrape off shavings from your bar of white soap. You can collect your white soap shavings directly into a bowl and then add the 500 ml of rose water into the bowl. Boil some plain water over heat and once the water starts to boil, transfer the mixture of soap shavings and rose water into the boiling water.

The heat will make the soap shavings melt. Just as soon as the soap is completely melted, you can take the jojoba oil and add it in. Stir well and then mix in the thymus vulgaris, tea tree oil, as well as the dried marigold petals. Mix all of these together thoroughly. Afterwards, pour this solution out onto a dish or whatever container you wish to use to shape your soap. Your soap will harden over time, usually within a span of 10 – 15 days. Once you see that the soap has become solidly set, you can use a knife to slice through the large bar to make smaller ones.
